It is incredibly SAD to me how things have changed in the 20 years I have been in the class room. This is the hardest part of teaching. So many times I know that something is going on in the home but I cannot discover exactly what it is and I have no control over it. My husband accuses me of wanting to bring them all home and he is not far off. I guess I want to save the world.
Anyway, the bottom line is that I want to create a classroom where these children feel safe and loved. Where they can learn without fear and want to learn. I want them to know they are loved and valued and that they have great potential.
This is my wish for my children.

- I moved to Joseph City when I was 6 years old. I married John Daniel Young IV in December of 1985 and inherited four children that I grew to love. I now have 16 grandchildren and have a great life. I have taught kindergarten two blocks from my home for the last 20 years and feel very blessed to have done so.
